Why ACT?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) isn’t just another self-help trend—it’s a scientifically validated approach grounded in rigorous research.
ACT is backed by numerous randomized controlled trials (RCTs), the gold standard in clinical research. These studies have consistently shown that ACT is effective in treating a wide range of issues, from anxiety and depression to chronic pain and stress.
By choosing our ACT-based courses, you're investing in a method that’s been proven to help people make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.

Whitney Graff, Psy.D. ABPP
Hello! I’m Dr. Whitney Graff, founder of ACT On Mental Health. I’m a Board-Certified Clinical Psychologist with 15 years of experience in the mental health field.
I have been deeply engaged with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) since 2011. After receiving extensive training and supervision in ACT, I've become an expert in this discipline. Today, I use ACT in my private practice, helping individuals reclaim their lives from anxiety, depression, and other problems. Leading ACT trainings for fellow clinicians is a privilege and introduces them to this powerful approach that can be applied to a wide range of mental health problems.
In addition to my clinical practice, I teach cognitive behavioral therapy at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. Teaching the next generation of professionals allows me to keep my own skills sharp while giving back to the field of mental health.
It was my work with veterans, though, that convinced me to disseminate ACT concepts even further, striving to reach a wider audience and help more people. My goal in creating this website is to provide a resource where individuals can learn valuable skills at their own pace. Through the tools and insights offered here, you will be supported as you work toward a life that feels fulfilling.
Thanks for taking the time to visit. It's a pleasure to offer you these resources to support your well-being.
